Bill Condon has already began to make his mark in the entertainment industry with the Wikileaks based drama The Fifth Estate starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Rush star Daniel Bruhl, but has now turned to his next film A Slight Trick Of The Mind which will star Ian McKellen as an ageing Sherlock Holmes.
The film is to be written by Jeffrey Hatcher (the Duchess), and is based on the novel of the same name written by Mitch Cullin. The book is set in 1947 as a 93 year old Holmes is now frustrated with recurring recollections and memories, believing that his new beekeeping hobby may have something sinister behind itself.
With The Fifth Estate out late this year, we can expect this to be released in 2014/15.
